Zambia has expressed concern over their away fixture against Niger in Morocco, which was requested by Niger as they do not have a certified stadium for CAF and FIFA-sanctioned games. The Zambian FA has written to CAF to express their concern, as Morocco is also an opponent for Zambia in the quest for a World Cup place. FAZ president Andrew Kamanga said that the move by Niger to play their home fixture in Morocco is not a welcome move, and that the Zambian FA has alerted CAF to this "misnomer". "We are aware that Niger has requested to play their home match in Morocco, which regrettably is in the same group as us. In the spirit of fair play, we have alerted CAF to this misnomer and hope they will act upon our request." Meanwhile, Kamanga is confident that the Chipolopolo boys will have a good start to their World Cup dream journey when they host Congo Brazzaville next month. "We have no doubt our World Cup campaign will get off to a flying start," he said. Zambia is in Group E for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers with Morocco, Congo Brazzaville, Tanzania, Niger, and Eritrea.
