Shoprite Zambia has generously offered a sponsorship package of 60,000 Kwacha to support the Zambia Youth Baseball5 Team in their upcoming Youth Baseball5 World Cup journey in Turkey. Charles Bota, Shoprite Zambia's General Manager, expressed their enthusiasm for backing these talented young athletes and highlighted the importance of supporting youth in sports. In addition to the financial support, Shoprite has also provided the team with sponsored T-shirts featuring logos of Shoprite, Baseball 5, and the Zambia Baseball and Softball Association (ZBSA). Bota explained that their interest in baseball stems from a desire to promote emerging sports and nurture the talents of Zambia's youth who are still pursuing their education. Bota emphasized the significance of education and the unique opportunity the World Cup offers for representing their country on the international stage. He encouraged the team to give their all and exemplify the spirit of Zambia. Chabi Chondoka, President of ZBSA, expressed deep gratitude to Shoprite for their crucial role in supporting young baseball players, most of whom are under 18. He noted that Shoprite's quick response in providing 60,000 Kwacha helped overcome financial obstacles. Chondoka acknowledged the ongoing need for funds to cover air tickets and residential camping expenses for the team, which consists of athletes from across Zambia. He remains optimistic about the team's prospects and hopes for additional sponsorship. Chondoka concluded by emphasizing the collective desire to encourage and empower these young athletes who represent the future of Zambia's baseball scene. Additionally, ZBSA received sponsorship from Play-Off, an Italian sportswear company, which will provide jerseys for the National Team in the Youth Baseball5 World Cup.
