In round 12 of the USWSL, the Chicago Red Stars hosted Kundananji's Bay FC. Prior to this encounter, both teams had a terrible match record. Chicago was in sixth place with 16 points, and Bay FC was in 12th place with 9. Bay FC is one of the league's underperforming teams, with only one victory and four losses entering this match. Bay FC scored one goal before the halftime whistle, thanks to Kiki Pickett. Bay FC held on for the majority of the game, while Chicago failed to score an equalizer. In the 79th minute, Attacking Midfielder J. Anderson made it 2-0 for the visitors. The three points appeared more than clinched for Bay FC as Chicago's P. Hocking scored the consolation goal to end the match 1-2. Kundanaji was a starter in the match, playing all 90 minutes. The Zambian attacker made 58 touches and had a 71% pass accuracy. She made six dribbling attempts, four of which were successful. Despite neither scoring a goal or providing an assist, Racheal's attacking prowess and attempts helped the squad recover from its dismal condition. With this win, Bay FC moves up to tenth place. With a bit more consistency, the team may be among the top teams in the league, since they have a star-studded roster capable of contending with the big girls.
