OYDC ZAMBIA WELCOMES VOLLEYBALL COACHES ATTENDING THE FIVB LEVEL ONE COURSE

The OYDC Zambia - Sports Development Center has welcomed several coaches from four nations who are visiting the facility to take the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball - FIVB Level One training. Coaches are from Namibia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, and Zambia, the host country. Joel Mathews, Namibia's FIVB Instructor, will lead the five-day coaching course. The National Olympic Committee of Zambia (NOCZ) president, Alfred Foloko, stated in a speech read on his behalf by the committee's Secretary General, Boniface Kambikambi, that the NOCZ, in collaboration with the Government of the Republic of Zambia and Olympic Solidarity, is pleased to have sponsored the course in Zambia. He has challenged all participants to pass the training, which will include both theory and physical parts of the exam. He noted that the NOCZ is delighted that Zambia was picked to hold two FIVB courses level one and two adding that he has been reliably informed that in the next few months no coaches would be allowed to sit on the technical bench without one of these courses attained. He has now called to other local sports federations to emulate the Zambia Volleyball Association (ZAVA) by offering similar seminars. Zambia Volleyball Association - The Official president Nakaonga Kakoma says all participants at the end of the training would receive vital knowledge which will be beneficial to their respective nations. Meanwhile, FIVB Instructor Joel Mathews said educating coaches will add more value and knowledge to expand the sport in countries. Mathews noted that for coaches to be issued a certificate they will need to pass the exam and attend all the course sessions. FIVB Level Course, there will be practical and theory tests and for one to acquire a certificate one has to pass and attend full time. Over 20 coaches are in attendance and on their quest to acquire a FIVB Level One Coaching Course Certificate.
