Chipolopolo Captain, Lubambo Musonda said Zambia is determined to secure a victory in their opening game against the Democratic Republic of Congo tomorrow. During a pre-match press conference in Abidjan, Musonda highlighted the significance of a positive outcome, aiming to secure 3 crucial points for the team. He emphasized the team's optimism as they make their return to AFCON after their last appearance in 2015, "We managed to qualify and it's a great thing for us. Everybody in the team is happy to be here because most of them, it's their first time being here. And everybody is looking forward to play the game and give their best," he said. Furthermore, Musonda conveyed how missing the last editions of the AFCON has been a difficult period for the team and emphasized the team's commitment to putting in maximum effort with the support of the coach. Zambia's AFCON campaign kicks off against DR Congo at the Laurent Pokou Stadium at 20:00 local time (22:00 Zambia Time). Following this, they will face Tanzania four days later and Morocco on January 24.
