Power Dynamos Football Club (PDFC) has officially unveiled Osward Mutapa as the new head Coach, under a contract of 2 years and 6 months. Coach Mutapa is replacing Mwenya Chipepo, who parted ways with the club last year. Speaking during the unveiling ceremony today, PDFC Chief Executive Officer, Gibson Chaloba, highlighted how carefully they picked a new coach, stressing the thorough and rigorous process they went through. "We looked inside PDFC itself and searched outside as well, and finally today, we are able to state that the process has proved evident because we are in the process of unveiling our new coach," he said. And PDFC Vice President, Ferdinand Menzu expressed confidence in Mutapa's expertise, anticipating his contribution to retaining the MTN Super League Title and elevating the club. Meanwhile, Mutapa, former Nkwazi FC coach, conveyed excitement over the appointment as he sees it as opportunity to challenge himself. "It won't be a walk in the park if you look at how the teams are performing right now. But with determination and working hard together, I think success is possible," he remarked. Coach Mutapa proclaimed his enduring objective to help the club defend their MTN Super League Title and also guide the club back into continental football by building a brand capable of triumphing across Africa. With about two decades of coaching experience with teams like Red Arrows FC, Trident FC, and Nkwazi FC, Mutapa brings a wealth of knowledge. His international success includes leading Zambia's Under-17 and Under-20 teams to victory in the COSAFA tournaments in 2019, a historic feat. Supported by PDFC's assistant coaches Linos Makwaza and Songwe Chalwe, Coach Mutapa is set to guide the defending champions to new heights.
