The Chipata District team has embarked on provincial training sessions, gearing up for the U-17 National Team trials, under the guidance of Delegation Head Coach Jean Phiri. This rigorous preparation sets the stage for talented young female footballers nationwide, as they vie for coveted spots in the U-17 Women's National Football Team. Coach Phiri expressed satisfaction that all summoned players from the district attended the session promptly. She remains optimistic about players from other districts joining on time. And Lillian Vergeer, the Provincial Women's FAZ representative, closely monitored the training and encouraged the girls to seize the opportunity to join the junior Copper Queens team. Addressing the players, Vergeer emphasized, "Only 18 players from the province will be selected, so competition starts here. It's up to you to make the most of this chance and break into the U-17 National Team." Meanwhile, Ezekiel Siamalambo, Provincial FAZ Technical Director, visited to assess how well the district team responded to the session. The U-17 Provincial team is gearing up for a Round Robin tournament during the national team trials in Lusaka from January 3rd to 5th, 2024.
